Don't just take my word for it...

owner and designer, Hans thyge & co.

Nahla has worked as an intern in our design studio from September 3rd 2023 to March 8th 2024.
Nahla has worked with great enthusiasm with a variation of design projects, from coffee table collections, sofas, and seating systems to lamps and has helped on many projects.
When starting new projects, Nahla is curious and open minded. She is very keen to learn and has a humble approach which is highly appreciated. Nahla works in a very systematic and methodical way, looking for the right expressions and solutions.
Nahla is loyal and has good work ethic. She is very sympathetic and sensitive and decodes her surroundings with fine social skills and contributes to a nice atmosphere - all qualities which we consider as very important.
During her internship she has improved her ability in the design / concept process, her 3D modelling and rendering skills. Furthermore, she has gained a deeper insight into the design process from strategic thinking, concept, the development, production, to the branding and sale.
It has been a true pleasure to have Nahla in the studio. Her warm, helpful, and social attitude and disciplined spirit will bring her far.
Andrew Pawson
Associate Lecturer, Sheffield Hallam University

I have known Nahla since 2021 in my capacity as an Associate Lecturer in the Art and Design Department at Sheffield Hallam University, UK.

Nahla has attended classes I have taught during her first and second years on the BA(hons) Product Design degree course, during which time she has studied and delivered on a number of modules and projects. Her attendance has always been excellent and was always an active participant in each project, whether individual or team based. She has confidence to share her ideas and empathy to listen and contribute with others. She is always willing to learn and develop, is generous with her time and is keen to help others achieve their goals.

In my opinion Nahla has an array of strengths to offer an employer. She utilises creative processes to deliver high quality, unique solutions ably communicated with strong sketching, model making and digital skills. Her work is thorough and detailed, and she presents her ideas confidently with a clear speaking voice and an ability to share complex concepts in a way audiences are able to understand.  She is self motivated and has clear visions for the role of sustainability in the world of design, notably achieving her Carbon Literacy Certificate recently from the University.

In conclusion, I would highly recommend Nahla to be an enthusiastic, motivated and productive member of any creative team, and based on her first 2 years at University, and I believe she would be a very positive addition.

Nahla is humble, honest, loyal, stable and has a good work ethic. She is sympathetic, sensitive and conscious of her surroundings. Nahla has very fine social skills and contributes to a lovely atmosphere. She can be quiet when interacting with the others in the design team. She should remember to ask, disturb, engage, take some initiative, and put herself in the game.
Nahla’s sketches are detailed, exploratory and explanatory, excellent for getting her ideas across and sharing. She also does some fantastic illustrations that have the character of cartoon drawings. Both sketch methods are very useful for communicating design ideas.
Nahla works very structured and methodically, which is a great strength in the design process. She is very responsive but also must also remember to argue for her own ideas if she disagrees. She works seriously on each design, and is willing to learn new things and broaden her knowledge.
Daniela Pessoz
Centre manager, BRitish English Olympics, Benenden campus
I had the pleasure of working with Nahla O’Rourke during Easter of 2024 in a language campus in Benenden (UK). She showed ability to work well with the team and students of different nationalities aged between 12 and 17.
As a Centre Host, her responsibilities were challenging and required excellent public speaking and confidence leading groups, which she delivered with enthusiasm. She consistently completed tasks assigned on time, and is a motivated and responsible person.
I feel confident in saying that she is dedicated and reliable. I’m sure she would make a positive addition to any team.
